A nanny portfolio is a folder that holds professional documents relevant to your career.
Why do I need a Portfolio?
When you have a job interview, showing your portfolio gives a professional impression. Potential employers will want to know that you have relevant nanny experience, qualifications and recommendations.
You should put copies of the following documents in your Portfolio:
CV detailing your work history and education
A form of photo id ( passport, permit,...)
Criminal record check
First Aid certificate
Certificates of training courses
SNA and other relevant memberships
Activity ideas for different ages
Activity suggestions for the local area
Example schedules of activities / daily routines
Meal suggestions and meal plan example
Pictures of your nanny life, craft activities you have done, thank you cards,...
Remember to ask for consent if any pictures include a child
Remember to always keep your documents up to date
Have a look through your Portfolio before you interview
Never leave your Portfolio behind. If the interviewers asks to keep some documents offer to send them a scanned version.
