About Us

Finding inspiration in every step 💜

The Swiss Nanny Association was founded by nannies, for nannies — with the goal of creating a supportive, professional, and connected community across Switzerland.

We understand the realities of working in private households and the importance of feeling informed, valued, and never alone in your role.

Through guidance, training, and community, we support nannies at every stage of their journey. We provide access to trusted information, promote professional development, and create opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together.

At SNA, we believe that when nannies are supported, confident, and respected, everyone benefits — especially the children in their care.

From One Call to a Community

The story of the Swiss Nanny Association began in 2015.

One of our founders had just finished a good nanny position and started looking for a new job. What she found was unexpected — and deeply concerning.

Job offers with low wages.
Undeclared work.
Unclear or missing contracts.

It didn’t feel right.

Determined to understand the situation, she began reading the law — learning about rights, responsibilities, and what fair working conditions should look like. She started sharing this information with other nannies.

Slowly, more people began to reach out.

They had questions.
They had concerns.
Many of them felt alone.

Then came a moment that changed everything.

A nanny called in distress. She had lost her job — and with it, her home — from one moment to the next. She didn’t know where to go or what to do.

That call made one thing clear: nannies needed real support.
They needed guidance.
They needed a voice.

What started as one person sharing information became something bigger — a collective need for change, connection, and protection within the profession.

Making SNA Official

On 29 February 2016, that vision became official.

Kelly, Joana, Giulia and Martina came together to found the Swiss Nanny Association.

The name was chosen.
The statutes were signed.
The structure was defined.

There was energy, motivation, and a shared belief: that nannies in Switzerland deserve fair and professional working conditions.

No one could fully imagine how much SNA would grow.

But the intention was clear — and the work had begun.

Today, SNA continues to support, inform, and connect nannies across Switzerland — ensuring they feel valued, protected, and never alone 💜

Meet The Committee Members (2026)

As SNA celebrates 10 years, we also begin a new chapter.

For the past decade, Kelly has been at the heart of the Swiss Nanny Association as our President — guiding its growth, shaping its vision, and building the strong community we have today. Her dedication, passion, and commitment have been fundamental to everything SNA represents.

In 2026, Kelly transitions into the role of Coordinator, allowing her to focus on other important aspects of her life while continuing to support SNA with her experience and care.

At the same time, a new committee team steps forward — bringing fresh energy, ideas, and a shared commitment to supporting nannies across Switzerland.

Together, we continue the work that began 10 years ago: to support, connect, and advocate for nannies — ensuring they feel valued, informed, and never alone 💜
